FirePHP in XAMPP

I followed the how-to on http://sixrevisions.com/web-development/how-to-debug-php-using-firefox-with-firephp/ but ran into the following problems.

How I got it working:

  1. Install Firefox
  2. Install Firebug
  3. Install FirePHP
  4. Install XAMPP
  5. Click on the download link on http://www.firephp.org/HQ/Install.htm
  6. Unpack .zip file and copy FirePHPLibrary-FirePHPCore-0.3.2.zip\FirePHPCore-0.3.2\lib\FirePHPCore to C:\xampp\php\PEAR\ so you’ll have a folder C:\xampp\php\PEAR\FirePHPCore with the fb.php etc files within that folder.
  7. In your PHP script:
    ob_start();
    require ‘/FirePHPCore/fb.php’;
    Fb::info(“Yihaaa”);

  1. Thanks very much. Perfect except I had to omit the leading slash in the require 🙂

    Thus:

    require ‘FirePHPCore/fb.php’;
